The Emerging Mobility Scholars Conference will be held at the University of Toronto on June 22nd and 23rd, 2023. The University of Toronto is a globally top-ranked public research university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Founded by royal charter in 1827 as King’s College, the first institution of higher learning in the colony of Upper Canada, University of Toronto predates Canada itself. 

Transport

Arrive at Toronto Union Station (travel by train or intercity bus):

Take the subway Line 1 (in yellow) from Union station to Queen’s Park station. There is a short downtown city walk from the Queen’s Park station to the campus.

Arrive at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (travel by flight):

Take the streetcar 510 from the station Spadina Ave. at Queens Quay West to the station Spadina Ave. at College St. Recommend selecting a flight that arrives at night to enjoy immersive and breathtaking skyline views of downtown Toronto 🙂 .

Arrive at Toronto Pearson International Airport (travel by flight):

First, take the UP Express rail line from Pearson station to Union Station. Then, take the subway Line 1 (in yellow) from Union station to Queen’s Park station. There is a short downtown city walk from the Queen’s Park station to the campus.

Accommodation

There are various choices of accommodation near the University of Toronto, St. George Campus. 

University of Toronto’s New College, Victoria College, Massey College, and Chestnut Residence offer short-term summer residence stay options. Conference attendees are encouraged to book early. Reach out to the residence directly to confirm rates and other details, and to book.

  • New College Residence Dorm style. Single Room $55 | Double Room $75 (student ID required). The website booking portal will open when bookings are being accepted. 

  • Victoria College Residence Single Room $78.50 | Double Room $96.50. 

  • Massey College Residence Standard Room with office and bedroom, shared washroom: Nightly Rate $95 Weekly Rate $550 | Suite with office, bedroom, and ensuite washroom. Nightly Rate $175 Weekly Rate $900. The booking portal will open soon.

  • Chestnut Residence Double Room (for two people, two double-sized beds in the room): $197 | Single Room (for one person, one double-sized bed in the room): $167. Rates include breakfast, served in the Dining Hall. Note: originally built as a hotel, located a little further away from campus (about a 20-minute walk).

All accommodations are subject to tax. Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is 13% in Ontario.
