Showcase your work at Pollution Probe’s 2025 Gala: Infrastructure Reimagined
In collaboration with Pollution Probe, the Positive Zero Transport Futures Lab invites students from across the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the University of Toronto to set up engaging exhibits to be featured at the 2025 Pollution Probe Gala. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your ideas around sustainable systems and infrastructure with a distinguished and wide-ranging audience, including industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and academics from across Canada. Selected student exhibits will be part of a curated gallery presented during the Gala reception from 5pm to 7pm. Following the exhibit portion, student participants are invited to stay and enjoy the full gala experience, including dinner and networking with key voices shaping Canada’s sustainable future.

– Venue: The Steam Whistle Roundhouse, 255 Bremner Blvd, Bay 6, Toronto, ON
– Date: November 25, 2025
– Time: Exhibits and networking reception at 5pm, followed by gala dinner and award presentation at 7pm

Theme: Reimagine what’s possible
At a time when nation-building is at the forefront and Canada is accelerating investment in infrastructure, Pollution Probe’s 2025 Gala will convene forward-thinking leaders across sectors working to shape a stronger, more sustainable economy that keeps environment top-of-mind. This year’s theme, Infrastructure Reimagined, provides an opportunity to come together to envision a future where innovation transforms the very foundation of our nation’s infrastructure. But it is also a time for big ideas and rethinking systems for the future.

True progress will require new ways of looking at the systems that power our economy, the natural assets that sustain our communities, and the skills and technologies that will shape our future. Through compelling storytelling, influential conversations, and high-profile networking, the Infrastructure Reimagined gala will highlight the people and projects redefining how we build a cleaner, more resilient, and more prosperous Canada.

Guidelines
– We are looking for physical exhibits (NOT posters) as lighting in the space is not ideal for reading print-heavy materials.
– Each exhibit may have up to 2 student representatives, both of whom will be invited to stay and attend the gala dinner and evening program.
– Each exhibit will be allocated a 6ft table. For smaller displays, tables may be shared between two exhibits. In those cases, only 1 student rep per exhibit will be accommodated due to space constraints.
– If you do not require a table or plan to bring a larger installation, please indicate that so we can coordinate logistics.
– We currently have space for 5 student exhibits (with a possibility of more depending on final layout and weather).

Deadline and Eligibility
– Who can apply: undergraduate and graduate students (individuals or teams of up to 2 students) across the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the University of Toronto
– Submission deadline: September 17, 2025 at 11:59 pm ET.

How to apply
Please send a short paragraph (max 300 words) including:
– A description of your exhibit and how it relates to the theme “Infrastructure Reimagined”
– Any physical or technical requirements (e.g., outlet access, no table, large item dimensions)
– Whether your exhibit is small enough to share a table or large enough to require extra space
– If available, please include a photo of the exhibit
– Name(s) and program/year of participating student(s)
